  • Clearly you didn’t read the part where I mentioned nuclear powered cargo ships.

What I understood you to be saying is that the world should ASAP make this change and I was telling you the effects of doing it too fast. Also nuclear powered ships have their own problems, like putting nuclear fuel in countries that might have more terrorism. I wouldn’t want Iran to have a nuclear powered ship much more than I would want them to have a nuclear bomb (which I really don’t want them to have)

I like how you’re putting more emphasis on jobs then medicine. I wonder where you’re getting your proprieties from.

Extremely minor detail with how I ordered a list. At any rate I think that because most people aren’t sick and all people need money to buy food, money might actually matter slightly more. But that really isn’t relevant at all.

If you want people to carefully read your whole post, maybe you should carefully use proper grammar. If you’re going to write an essay, at least use proper punctuation.

I use grammer when it benifits me. You can still read what I’m writing if I make a few spelling mistakes. this too is kinda irelavent

don’t expect anyone to follow any plan. I expect them to do the same thing they did through covid. Make the most selfish, self-centered discussions and cause the most unnecessary amount of suffering.

shity world. Ngl Id like it if there was some push to greenify transportation too, but I just don’t think the way you described is the best

  • yeah. actually I do care about the ecosystem but I don’t think messing up everything is the best way of fixing stuff. I’d much rather electric trains carry the bulk of transportation than simply stopping all transportation

if you want to ‘save the world’ while stopping

    • chip manufacture
    • the internet (because the world needs new chips often)
    • Lemmy (because no internet)
    • food (because less agriculture from other countries) <-- which we all want (no shipping = no avocados, no Indian spices)
    • medicine <-- which we need
    • the majority of jobs <-- which we really need

then go and try, but don’t be surprised when no one is in favor of your insane plan

  • I agree with some of what you’ve said but not all

Bitcoin has intrinsic value because its simply more practical for society to collectively hallucinate that it’s valuable, because it allows for more trade. And at the same time, its deflationary, causing that collectively hallucinated value to increase over time. The only case in which Bitcoin could ever fall to zero would be in a 51% attack if the attacker chose to double spend a ton of coins, hyperinflation the currency - but that would never happen, because it would be super expensive, and because its not in the attackers economic interest, so it makes sense to rule out that scenario. This is arguably less likely than nuclear war.
